Tottenham have held a meeting with Villarreal to discuss the availability of midfielders Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, according to journalist Xavi Jorquera.
It is claimed the Yellow Submarine have left the exchange happy with their progress towards attaining Lo Celso, who spent the second half of last season in their company on loan.
The report adds Villarreal have also taken an interest in fellow midfielder Ndombele, with the possibility of swapping Ecuadorian left-back Pervis Estupinan now being considered.
Estupinan, 24, emerged as a key man for Unai Emery last term making 40 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt) as he helped his side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Spurs midfield pair Lo Celso and Ndombele are expected to be available on the market this summer (Evening Standard) after both endured tricky campaigns last time out respectively.
They did not feature for head coach Antonio Conte during pre-season and were omitted from the squad that travelled to South Korea earlier this month.
Spurs Web Opinion
Villarreal’s link with Lo Celso is clear from his decent spell with them in the second half of last term, so it will likely be a case of putting together a deal that works for both parties.
Their interest in Ndombele is also interesting as he is the more expensive option which could be why they may be willing to include Estupinan in a swap in order to make the move feasible.
