Tottenham certainly have a dilemma on their hands with the future of Christian Eriksen.
The 27-year-old’s contract in North London expires at end of the current season and has reportedly made it clear to the club that he doesn’t wish to sign a new deal (The Athletic).
There have been reports that Real Madrid are keen on signing the Danish international on a free transfer next summer (El Desmarque). However, Tottenham would obviously prefer to sell him for a cut-price deal in January rather losing him for nothing next summer.
A report by The Athletic claims that Tottenham could decide to sell Eriksen to Manchester United in January for £25m.
United are set to be keen on returning for the midfielder in January after their approach in the summer was reportedly rebuffed.
It is revealed that Eriksen is not against a move to Old Trafford in January despite the club’s recent struggles.
Spurs Web Opinion
To be perfectly honest, I wouldn’t really mind if he joined Man Utd in January. The club would prefer to get some money in for him rather than losing him for nothing. However, I just don’t see why the 27-year-old will want to switch Spurs for United, especially when he knows he can wait till the summer and move to a club like Juventus or Real Madrid with a big signing on fee.
