Report: West Brom ready to battle Tottenham for centre-forward

West Bromwich Albion could be set to enter the race for rumoured Spurs target Vedat Muriqi, according to reports from Turkey.

Muriqi has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over the past few weeks with several reports from Turkey installing the Lilywhites as the front-runners for the striker’s signature.

The Kosovo international is said to be keen on joining Spurs and linking up with Jose Mourinho (Fanatik via Sport Witness).

Muriqi’s international manager, Agim Ademi, has revealed that Spurs were ready to pay whatever Fenerbahce demand for the striker (GazetaOlle).

However, Fanatik (as relayed by Tribal Football) now reports that West Brom will also attempt to sign the 24-year-old if they manage to secure promotion to the Premier League.

The report claims that Baggies boss, Slaven Bilic, has prioritised Muriqi’s signing and the club are prepared to offer €20 million for the Fenerbahce star.

I am not surprised that Bilic is interested in signing Muriqi as he might potentially know him well through his Balkan connections. Even though Muriqi is not a prolific goalscorer and is relatively unproven at the top level, I believe he has all the attributes to succeed in the Premier League. We will regret it if we allow the striker to join another Premier League side.
