Report: West Brom ready to step up interest in rumoured Spurs target

West Bromwich Albion are set to intensify their interest in rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Vedat Muriqi ahead of the summer transfer window.

Muriqi has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs, with reports indicating that Spurs had an offer turned down by Fenerbahce for the striker during the January transfer window.

The North Londoners have been backed to make another offer for the 26-year-old this summer (Sabah), with reports indicating that the striker is keen on linking up with Jose Mourinho in North London (Fanatik via Sport Witness).

West Brom have also been previously mentioned as a potential suitor for the Kosovo international’s signature with Slaven Bilic said to be a fan of the striker (Fanatik).

Turkish journalist, Ahmet Selim Kul has said on A Spor (as relayed by Birmingham Mail) that the Baggies continue to retain an interest in the striker and are ready to make a concrete offer from him.

However, it is said that the club will have to seal promotion to the Premier League if they are to have any chance of landing Muriqi.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Muriqi is not near the top of our wish list this summer and is a backup option in case we can land the forwards want. However, I would not be surprised if a club like West Brom or a Burnley snap him up as the Kosovan has the attributes to be a hit in the Premier League.
