Report: West Ham and Crystal Palace interested in same manager as Spurs

The Times report that Arne Slot, who has been linked with the Tottenham job, is also interesting fellow Premier League sides West Ham and Crystal Palace.

The speculation linking Slot with a move to Spurs appears to be gathering steam as we get closer to the end of the season.

While the Dutchman is not thought to be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Antonio Conte, The Daily Express claimed a few days ago that he remains a ‘firm outside contender’ for the role.

The report revealed suggested that the one thing that could work to Slot’s advantage is the fact that there is a ‘lingering feeling of regret’ at the North London club that they chose against appointing Erik Ten Hag back in 2021.

It was explained that the Feyenoord boss has several admirers in the Spurs boardroom, owing to the eye-catching brand of possession-based football that he has adopted at De Kuip.

However, if The Times are to be believed, then Spurs may have Premier League opposition in any race for Slot in the summer in the form of West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Slot is likely to be one of Tottenham’s top targets but I expect some mid-table Premier League clubs or even decent-sized Bundesliga clubs like Frankfurt to be eyeing a move for the Dutchman this summer.

The 44-year-old would be tempted to make the move as he needs to prove himself in a top league before becoming a legitimate contender for the biggest jobs in Europe.
