Report: West Ham and Norwich interested in signing this Spurs midfielder

According to a report in the Daily Mail, West Ham United and Norwich City are interested in securing the services of Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama in the January transfer window.

Wanyama has barely featured since the start of the season and hasn’t even made the bench for the majority of Tottenham’s games this campaign.

The Kenyan international is yet to start a single match under Jose Mourinho with the likes of Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Winks all seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.

The 28-year-old was reported to be close to an exit from Spurs in the summer but a move didn’t materialise in the end (BBC).

While Wanyama’s injury problems have prevented him from having a sustained run in the side for the best part of two years, his vast experience at the Premier League level could come in handy for both Norwich and West Ham, who are fighting to avoid the drop this season.

It is a case of ‘what if’ with Wanyama as his injury problems have prevented him from reaching his potential with Spurs. He was absolutely phenomenal alongside Mousa Dembele in his first season at the club but has simply not managed to get a consistent run in the side after that and build momentum.
