Report: West Ham closing in on winger previously linked with Spurs

According to Sky Sports, West Ham United are close to completing a deal for Brentford winger Said Benrahma, who was said to be on Tottenham’s radar earlier in the transfer window.

The midfielder has set the Championship alight since his move from Nice in 2018, with his performances playing a crucial role in the Bees’ push for promotion last season.

The Daily Mirror reported in August that Spurs were competing with West Ham United, Leeds United, and Aston Villa for the 25-year-old’s signature.

Tottenham have since completed the capture of Gareth Bale on a season long loan deal from Real Marid, with a central defender said to be the only addition Jose Mourinho is looking for before the domestic transfer window closes on October 16 (BBC).

It now looks like the door has been opened for the Hammers to swoop for Benrahma, with Sky Sports reporting that David Moyes side are close to agreeing a £30m deal with the Bees for the wide man.
