Report: West Ham could enter Malinovsky race as Spurs hesitant to meet price

TuttoAtalanta have claimed that West Ham United could enter the race for rumoured Tottenham target Ruslan Malinovsky in the final week of the transfer window.

Malinovskyi has been linked with a move to Tottenham recently, with TMW claiming last week that Antonio Conte’s men are the favourites to snap up the 29-year-old, who is destined to leave Atalanta this summer.

However, if Tutto Atalanta’s latest update is to be believed, Atalanta’s asking price for the attacking midfielder has now gone up after his goal on Monday in the 1-1 draw against AC Milan.

The report claims that the Serie A club are now demanding a fee of around €30m-€35m (£25.3m-£29.5m) to let Malinovskyi leave before the transfer window closes.

It is explained that Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are willing to loan the midfielder out with an obligation to buy. However, TuttoAtalnta add that Spurs are not willing to meet Atalanta’s asking price and would only accept a loan with an option to buy Malinovsky.

It is asserted that Spurs’ London rivals West Ham are now thinking about making a move for the Atalanta star.

It is worth remembering that Atalanta are not in a strong negotiating position as Malinovski has only 12 months left to run on his contract with the club.

So unless Gasperini’s men are confident that the 29-year-old is going to sign an extension, they cannot really demand a high fee.

Perhaps Spurs are playing a waiting game as they expect Atalanta to get desperate in the final couple of days of the transfer window.
