Report: West Ham could now challenge Spurs for young attacker

Journalist Dean Jones has revealed in his column in Sports Lens that West Ham United are also eyeing a move for Tottenham target Antonio Nusa.

There is quite a bit of buzz among Spurs fans at the club’s alleged interest in Nusa, with various outlets revealing over the past couple of days that Tottenham are in talks with Brugge over a £26m deal for the winger (The Athletic).

While the youngster’s modest numbers in the final third indicate that he is far from a finished product, there is certainly plenty of excitement about the 18-year-old’s potential, not just at Brugge but also back in his homeland of Norway, with many believing that he could be the latest superstar to emerge from the country.

As one would expect for a player with such a high ceiling, there is thought to be quite a bit of interest in the winger, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Brentford named as admirers of the player by The Daily Mirror on Friday.

West Ham interested in Spurs-linked Antonio Nusa

Jones has now revealed that it is not just Tottenham who have scouted Nusa this season but so have the Bees and the Hammers.

The journalist explains that the Lilywhites are now ‘stepping up intent’ to strike a deal for the teenager to ensure that they see off the competition from the two aforementioned London sides.

Jones adds that Nusa has been identified by Spurs as a player who ‘fits well with the vision of the club’ mapped out by Ange Postecoglou.

Nusa’s talent is far from a secret and there is no doubt that a number of clubs across Europe would have been tracking him. It is to be expected that Tottenham’s pursuit of the 18-year-old will perhaps jolt other sides into action over the coming days, which is why the Spurs hierarchy are seemingly keen on completing a deal swiftly.
