According to The Athletic, West Ham United could make a move for rumoured Tottenham target Wout Weghorst this summer.

There is currently a big question mark surrounding Harry Kane’s future, with Manchester City expected to make a big push for the England captain.

While Tottenham continue to insist that the 27-year-old is not for sale (according to Fabrizio Romano), it remains to be seen whether the impending arrival of Paulo Fonseca would be enough to convince Kane of the club’s ambition.

It has been rumoured that the North London club have drawn up a list of potential replacements for Kane, which includes the likes of Victor Osimhen, Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings.

The Athletic have now suggested that Wolfsburg star Weghorst is another option that Tottenham are exploring as an alternative.

The Dutch international was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last summer but the North London club decided to sign Benfica’s Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan deal instead.

According to The Athletic, Spurs could reignite their interest in Weghorst, who scored 25 goals and registered 9 assists in all competitions during the last campaign.

It is revealed that Wolfsburg are ready to sell the 28-year-old for €30m (£25.8m), with the Hammers also said to be showing interest.
