Report: West Ham could rival Spurs to sign Bundesliga defender

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to face competition from rivals West Ham United over their rumoured interest in Ozan Kabak.

Sky Germany claimed earlier this month that there was interest in the Schalke defender from both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

The Evening Standard claimed last month that Tottenham are keen to bring in a new central defender during the current transfer window.

David Moyes’ side have also entered the race to sign the Turkish international with the Bundesliga outfit reported to be holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €15 million (£13.5 million), according to Sport1.

The Bundesliga strugglers are said to need to raise funds if they are to make any new signings of their own this month, with a right-back and striker said to be high up on their shopping list.

The seven-cap international has played ten top flight games this season Schalke, including the last seven in a row (transfermarkt).
