Report: West Ham could sign £25m striker previously linked with Spurs switch

According to a report by The Express, West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka who has previously linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Football.London revealed during the summer that Daka was one of a number strikers that Spurs were considering before they eventually settled on taking Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica.

However, The Evening Standard later revealed that the Zambian international wanted to remain at Salzburg and continue his development for another year despite hearing about interest from the Lilywhites.

That has proven to be the right call with the striker having already found the back of the net 15 times for Salzburg in all competitions this season (transfermarkt.com).

The Express claim the 22-year-old is keen on testing himself in the Premier League and has been offered to West Ham as Sebastien Haller’s replacement.

The report suggests that Hammers could land Daka for £25m this month.

Spurs Web Opinion

Daka is a fantastic prospect and seems to possess all the attributes necessary to succeed in the Premier League. However, West Ham will likely have a huge advantage over Tottenham in the race for his signature as the 22-year-old will be guaranteed first-team football at the London Stadium, while he will have to play second fiddle to Kane at Spurs.
