Report: West Ham enter race for Tottenham-linked centre-back

CaclioMercato.it report that West Ham United have entered the race for Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer, who has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks.

Bremer, who has been a rock at the back for Torino over the last couple of seasons is alleged to be on Tottenham’s shopping list ahead of January,

It has previously been reported that the Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici has ‘the clear intention’ of bringing the 24-year-old to North London next month.

Sources from Italy claimed last week that Antonio Conte’s men face competition from the likes of Napoli, Inter Milan and AC Milan for Bremer, with Inter even thought to have spoken to the Brazilian’s representatives about a potential transfer.

According to CaclioMercato.it, Spurs also now have competition to contend with from their London rivals West Ham for the central defender.

The report claims the Hammers have identified Bremer as an option in January following the injuries to Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna.

It is explained that the former Atletico Minero man is valued by Torino at €18m (£15.3m).

Spurs Web Opinion

If Bremer is seen as a priority target by Paratici and Conte, one would expect us to beat West Ham to the 24-year-old’s signature.

Even though the Hammers are doing well this season, the Brazilian will likely find the prospect of working with Conte at Spurs more appealing.
