Report: West Ham pull out of race for Spurs-linked winger

Football Insider have claimed West Ham have pulled out of the race to sign Adama Traore having been informed the Wolves winger is on the verge of signing for Tottenham.

The Telegraph reported that West Ham placed Traore on their shopping list this month, who has been made available for transfer at around £20 million.

However, the Hammers have received a blow in their pursuit, with Football Insider revealing David Moyes’ side has been told the Spain international is making a move to Tottenham instead.

Spurs are said to be stepping up their interest and are confident of landing Traore after having a reported £15 million bid turned down last week (The Guardian).

Antonio Conte shortlisted Traore, who has 18 months remaining on his Wolves contract, as a transfer target last month and someone to bolster his options at right wing-back (Daily Mail).

Should the move materialise, he would stand as Tottenham’s first acquisition under Conte and the club’s first incoming this month.

The Athletic reported earlier today that the jet-heeled winger is expected to make the switch to north London.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs have held Traore as a transfer target for a while, so there was really going to be one outcome here. But West Ham could have swooped in if they really wanted him, though, as Spurs haven’t exactly looked to secure a deal quickly.
