Report: West Ham ‘redouble their efforts’ to sign striker but Spurs still have a chance

Walfoot claim that even though West Ham United have stepped up their pursuit of Mohamed Amoura, Tottenham still have a good chance of beating their London rivals to the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise star.

Amoura has been posting some outstanding numbers in front of goal for Union SG this season and several Premier League sides have now seemingly taken note of the striker’s displays.

Last week, DZ Foot revealed that Tottenham are admirers of the Algerian international and are ready to step up their pursuit of the player.

This was then followed up by a report in Le Soir, who claimed a couple of days ago that both Spurs and West Ham had already launched offers for the 23-year-old while Wolves and Brighton were also circling over the player.

West Ham and Spurs both like Mohamed Amoura

Walfoot have now provided an update on Tottenham’s and West Ham’s battle for Amoura, claiming that the two London clubs are not taking a step back.

It is explained that while Ange Postecoglou’s men were initially in pole position to sign the centre-forward, the Hammers have now ‘redoubled their efforts’ to overcome competition from Spurs.

However, the publication adds that the proposal from the East London club has not pleased the Belgian club, thus handing the Lilywhites an opportunity to regain the lead in the race for Amoura’s signature.

It is quite interesting to note that it is only Belgian and Algerian sources that are talking up Tottenham’s and West Ham’s chances of landing Amoura. That suggests that the information is being leaked by the player’s entourage in an effort to potentially drum up more interest in the striker.
