Report: West Ham successful in £22m bid for reported Spurs target

According to reports, West Ham United have struck a deal to sign Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen, who has been linked heavily with a move to Spurs over the last few months (Football.London).

The Daily Mail reported a couple of weeks ago that Spurs were keeping tabs on Bowen and were considering making a move for him this month.

Arsenal, Newcastle, and Aston Villa were also said to be monitoring the 22-year-old who is having another impressive season for Hull, having already registered sixteen goals and six assists in the Championship this campaign (Transfermarkt).

However, the Daily Mail now reports that West Ham’s £22 million offer for the youngster has been accepted by Hull City.

The report suggests that the Hammers beat out competition from Palace for the winger, who will now have a medical on deadline day before putting pen to paper on a £60,000 a week contract at the London stadium.

If this report is true, then it would be a shame to see Bowen go to West Ham as I am convinced that he is going to develop into one of the best-attacking talents in the country. However, it is clear that we are fairly well stocked with wingers and attacking midfielders after landing Steven Bergwijn and so we didn’t really need Bowen.
