Report: What one ‘well-placed source’ has said about ‘huge budget’ at Spurs

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur have set aside a significant amount of funds to sign a new prolific number nine before the transfer window slams shut.

According to some estimates, the total fee that Spurs are set to receive from Bayern Munich for Harry Kane could rise to around £120m if certain add-ons are met (Football.London).

The Lilywhites now face the difficult task of replacing their record-goal scorer and some fans are likely sceptical that Richarlison will be able to fill the England captain’s shoes.

Although the Brazilian delivered two tireless displays against Brentford and Manchester United, he did not show much quality in the final third, and the 26-year-old has called for patience from the fans, insisting that things will click for him in front of goal (ESPN Brazil).

Spurs will sign another goalscorer this summer

Football Insider have now asserted that Ange Postecoglou’s men do not plan on being primarily reliant on Richarlison to lead the line this season.

It is alleged that the club have already set aside a portion of the Kane fee to sign a prolific goalscorer before the transfer deadline.

The publication claims that they have heard from a ‘well-placed source’ that Spurs have a ‘huge budget’ to get the right striker through the door.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think the most likely outcome this summer is for Spurs to sign a young, up-and-coming striker like Gift Orban to supplement Richarlison. I believe that the bulk of the Kane fee will be spent on a centre-back and a versatile young attacker such as Brennan Johnson.
