Report: What Pochettino has told Daniel Levy in direct contacts this month

Football Insider sources have reported that Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy have been in direct contact recently about the future of the Tottenham manager role.

The report claims that talks have not advanced past the exploratory stage, as Spurs still have Antonio Conte at the helm in the pursuit of another top-four finish.

However, with Football Insider reiterating that Conte is thought to be keen on a return to Italy, it appears Spurs are reportedly sounding out other future options, including Pochettino.

The Argentine was in charge of Tottenham for over five years, with his project culminating with an appearance in the final of the 2019 Champions League.

However, things soon turned on their head for the Lilywhites following the bitter disappointment of their Madrid defeat at the hands of Liverpool, and Pochettino was relieved of his duties later that year.

If Football Insider are to be believed, Tottenham have already contacted Pochettino about the idea of returning, and he told Levy that he wants to be the next Spurs manager.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I believe that Conte is already done and dusted. He is leaving at the end of the season. Whether Pochettino returns will likely depend on Paratici, whether he stays at Spurs, and his appetite for the Argentine’s style.
