Report: When Spurs are expected to announce Ange Postecoglou as new boss

The Daily Mail have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to confirm Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach within the next 48 hours.

Postecoglou is now seemingly on the verge of joining Spurs, with Fabrizio Romano taking to social media on Monday evening to give his ‘here we go’ seal of approval to the move.

The journalist revealed that the 57-year-old has agreed to a two-year contract with Tottenham along with an option of a third, with the North London club said to be working on a final agreement with Celtic.

The Mail have now stated that the discussions between the parties have now ‘accelerated’, with the Lilywhites and the Bhoys now alleged to have reached a full agreement on the terms of Postecoglou’s release.

The report adds that only formalities of the appointment are now set to be completed, with the Premier League side expected to make an announcement on the Australian’s arrival within the next two days.

The pace at which this has moved indicates that Spurs had already held talks with Postecoglou in the preceding week or two and the groundwork for the deal had already been laid, with the parties just waiting until the Scottish Cup final to complete the final formalities.
