Report: When Spurs expect to play their next game after COVID outbreak

The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur do not expect to see the team play a game until December 19 following the outbreak of COVID-19 at the club.

Tottenham’s Europa Conference League clash against Rennes and their Premier League clash against Brighton were both originally postponed due to the outbreak of the virus of the club.

Following further positive tests this week, the club have reportedly closed down the first team area of their Hotspur Way training ground, with players having to train from home as a result.

The Athletic have now revealed there are ‘major doubts’ over whether Spurs will be able to field a team for their clash against Leicester City on December 16.

It is explained that while some of the eight first-team players who tested positive could be eligible for Thursday’s clash, the majority of the squad will still be isolating.

With a considerable number of Antonio Conte’s coaching staff also testing positive, it is said that the club could appeal to the Premier League to have their clash against the Foxes postponed as well.

The report claims that the expectation among many at Tottenham is that the clash against Liverpool on Sunday, December 19 is the next time we will see the side in action.
