The Athletic have revealed that Hugo Lloris may be the next first-team star in line for a contract extension at Tottenham after the club tie down Heung-min Son to a new deal.
Son is reportedly very close to agreeing a new contract with the Lilywhites that will see him move closer to the club’s top earners, including Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele.
It is said that once the South Korean signs on the dotted line, Daniel Levy will turn his attentions to negotiations with club captain Hugo Lloris.
The Frenchman signed his last contract extension with the Lilywhites back in 2016, in what was arguably the peak of the Mauricio Pochettino era.
Lloris has been in fantastic form since returning from his elbow injury last season and seems to have retained the number one spot despite the arrival of Joe Hart in the summer.
The 33-year-old’s current contract expires in the summer of 2022 and the club are thus said to be keen to tie him down to a new deal.
