Journalist Graeme Bailey has said that Daniel Levy and others in the Tottenham hierarchy are convinced that Ange Postecoglou will persuade Harry Kane to stay.
Reports over the last 24 hours indicated that Bayern Munich are set to return with an £80m offer for Kane after seeing their opening offer turned down by Tottenham (Ben Jacobs).

The Athletic claimed a couple of days ago that Thomas Tuchel has identified the Tottenham man as his priority target this summer and that the Bavarians are ‘optimistic’ about getting a deal for the striker over the line.
Meanwhile, multiple outlets, including The Times, reported yesterday that Bayern have reached a verbal agreement with Kane on personal terms and that the striker is ready to move to the Allianz Arena if a fee can be agreed between the two clubs.
Levy expects Postecoglou to keep Kane at Tottenham
However, Bailey has now claimed that Spurs have simply not specified any asking price for their star man and asserted that the 29-year-old will remain at Tottenham unless Real Madrid reignite their interest.
The journalist said on the Talking Transfers podcast: “There is no fee here. There’s no fee for Daniel Levy to say someone getting close to the fee that he wants. There is no fee. He’s not taking calls.
“He really does think that Ange Postecoglou – everyone at Spurs loves Ange – they think he is going to persuade him to stay.
“If you think that, he is going to start the season. Harry Kane, unless Real Madrid come in with a huge offer to tempt in, he is going nowhere.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It is clear that Kane is open to moving to the Allianz Arena as Bayern would not have launched offers before speaking to the striker’s entourage.
The big question is whether Levy will sanction a sale or not.
I personally think that an offer of £80m plus add-ons should be accepted as I just cannot see Kane being persuaded to sign a new deal unless Postecoglou performs a miracle and get us competing for the title next season.
