Report: Why Daniel Levy wants the Premier League season to continue – despite claims

Football London have now claimed that Daniel Levy wants the Premier League season to continue eventually, despite some journalist claims in recent days.

Martin Lipton revealed that two Premier League clubs had requested for the season to be cancelled altogether, before Ewan MacKenna named these two clubs as West Ham and Tottenham, something that has yet to be confirmed by an official source.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Premier League season was to be halted temporarily due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus (BBC).

For the moment, the season is suspended until April 4, although that is seen as the earliest possible date for a return to the footballing calendar. Tottenham were due to play Man United at home this weekend.

Football London now say that Levy actually wants the season to continue, as he does not want to lose out on TV revenue, stadium receipts, tickets, food, drink, merchandise and more. Five of Spurs’ final nine games were to be played at home.
