Report: Why is Pochettino helping Sheffield Wednesday to find a new manager?

Tottenham Hotspur fans may constantly worry about their main man, Mauricio Pochettino, leaving for pastures new, but Sheffield Wednesday isn’t a club you would think he would be linked to.

Reports today claim that Poch is attempting to assist the Championship club in their hunt for a new manager by recommending his friend from Argentina, Nestor Lorenzo (Sun).

Sheffield lost their manager, Steve Bruce, to Newcastle earlier this month and are still on the lookout for his full-time replacement.

Pochettino is said to be a ‘big ally’ of Lorenzo, who was the old Colombia assistant coach, but is now said to be looking to take on a new job in England.

It seems like a strange thing for Pochettino to get involved in, but as long as he isn’t looking for a new job himself, I doubt that fans will be too bothered.

The Argentine is currently travelling to Germany with the Spurs pre-season squad in order to take part in the Audi Cup.
