Tottenham Hotspur have finally announced the grand opening of their brand new 62,000 seat stadium for April 3 against Crystal Palace.
This ends six months of long Wembley waiting as the Spurs fans will finally be able to take their seats in their home for the next 100 plus years.
It also gives manager Mauricio Pochettino what he has so publicly desire all season, a home ground in which to build a fortress.
The Express believe that the 2019/20 season will be a pivotal one for Pochettino and Tottenham as a club.
If Poch can bring in some signings and have a successful season, it will prove that the business model Spurs have been building over the last five years does work.
It will prove that you can compete at the very top with a limited budget as long as you manage well, build up the club’s facilities, and invest in youth.
However, if Poch fails with his master plan and ultimately leaves the club, it will disprove this plan, maybe hinting that you simply have to spend the big bucks to compete in the modern era.
