Report: Why Spurs and Inter Milan will hold no further physical meetings over Skriniar

The latest reports from Italy indicate that Tottenham Hotspur are getting closer to completing a deal to sign Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan.

While Spurs have been linked heavily with the Slovakian international over the past few days, Fabrizio Romano suggested on Sunday that Inter and Spurs were still far apart in their valuation.

Sport Witness have now relayed updates from both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, suggesting that the deal is close to being agreed.

Gazzetta dello Sport reveal that the two clubs will not require another face to face meeting to negotiate the transfer, with a conference call expected to be enough.

They suggest that a deal worth around €40 million plus bonuses will be agreed for the centre-back.

Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter are expecting an imminent offer from Tottenham and that a series of bonuses could see the two clubs make up the difference in their respective valuations of Skriniar.
