Report: Why Spurs’ chances of landing £53m-rated striker may have taken a blow

Landing Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland may have just become a whole lot more difficult for Spurs as the latest reports indicate that Real Madrid have entered the race for the striker.

TuttoMercatoWeb reported last week that Haaland is one of the players on Tottenham’s radar as they seek to sign a striker in the summer.

The Norwegian centre-forward has continued to bang in the goals since moving to Dortmund in January, having found the back of the net on nine occasions in just eight Bundesliga games (transfermakt).

Halland reportedly has a €60 million release clause in his contract with the German giants, according to 90 min.

The Express now claim that Los Blancos have made the Dortmund star their top target this summer as they look to bolster their forward ranks.

If there is truth to the report, then would surely act as a significant blow to any hope Spurs had of signing the highly-rated teenager.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I didn’t really think we had a chance of signing Haaland, given how in-demand he is. The natural progression for him from Dortmund is to move to a club like Real Madrid. Besides, with Kane already at Spurs, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense for him to come to North London.
