Report: Why Tottenham’s FA Cup match vs Middlesbrough is being delayed

Tottenham Hotspur take on Middlesbrough in the FA Cup tomorrow, as they face off against their old hero Jonathan Woodgate, who now manages the Championship side.

Spurs flunked their first match in the Carabao Cup this season as they lost on penalties to League Two side Colchester United; they will not want to repeat that mistake.

The FA Cup now represents the only realistic chance for a domestic trophy this season for Spurs under Mourinho.

The match at the Riverside will now be delayed for one minute, meaning kick-off is officially at 2:01 pm (Tottenham).

This comes as part of a countrywide mental health awareness campaign that aims to have the biggest conversation about mental health that football has ever seen.

As part of this, a one minute video will be shown before each and every game across the country in the FA Cup, a clip that includes Spurs stars Dele Alli and Heung Min Son.
