Report: Winger could seal move to Tottenham in ‘coming days’

Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the next few days, according to journalist Danny Armstrong.

Kvaratskhelia has dazzled with his ball-carrying ability since joining Kazan as a teenager back in 2019, with the winger scoring four goals and providing eight assists in the Russian Premier League last season.

Reports from Italy claimed last month that Spurs and AC Milan had both expressed interest in signing the Georgian international this summer.

It now looks as though Tottenham have stepped up their efforts to sign Kvaratskhelia, with Armstong reporting that the North London club have made progress in talks with Kazan.

The journalist added that the transfer could be completed in a matter of just days.

In a later tweet, Armstrong also revealed that Kvaratskhelia’s agent had arrived in Russia to try and push through his client’s proposed move to Tottenham.

He claimed that Kazan valued the winger at €20m (£17m) and that the player’s agent was trying to reduce the price to suit Spurs’ interest.

Spurs Web Opinion

With Spurs already having signed Bryan Gil and now being heavily linked with both Kvaratskhelia and Pape Sarr, it is evident that Fabio Paratici is building for the future.

However, none of these signings are likely to improve our starting eleven this season and so a lot of work needs to be done before the window shuts to give Nuno a chance of competing for the top four.
