Report: Winger has contacted Spurs defender to sound out move to North London

The Athletic have claimed that expected Tottenham arrival Bryan Gil spoke to left-back Sergio Reguilon to sound him out over a move to North London

The pair were previously team-mates at Sevilla after Reguilon spent a season on loan at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, with Gil having been left encouraged at the prospect of moving to the Premier League club following dialogue with the Spanish international.

Both players predominantly operate on the left side and the prospect of both of them linking up will be an exciting one for a lot of Spurs fans.

It is also claimed that Spurs harbour hopes that Gil will be able to operate in the middle of the park and also on the right flank, where he would be able to cut in on his stronger left foot, should he develop accordingly.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter earlier this week that the swap deal involving Gil that would see Sevilla take Erik Lamela and also net a is done.

Gil has natural raw pace, great feet and a good crossing ability which will hopefully help to stretch defences and create space for the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son in behind.

Lamela has been a great servant to Spurs, however, injuries have limited his impact and a move to Spain will help to energise his career.
