Report: Winger Spurs wanted last summer now available for around £11m

According to a report from Estadio Deportivo, Rangers are ready to sell Ianis Hagi, who was rumoured to be a target for Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

Hagi arrived in Scottish football in January of last year on an initial six-month loan deal and showed glimpses of quality in the few opportunities that came his way last season.

The winger’s agent, Giovani Becali, revealed last summer that Tottenham and Manchester City were both interested in his client and even claimed to have spoken to Jose Mourinho about a possible move to Spurs.

However, it was Rangers who pushed ahead with a permanent move for the 22-year-old last summer and their decision has been vindicated, with the Romanian international registering 7 goals and 13 assists for Steven Gerrard’s men in all competitions this season.

Estadio Deportivo now report that Sevilla have held a long-term interest in Hagi and could make a move for him during this summer’s transfer window while Lazio are also keen on his signature.

The report claims that the Scottish champions are ready to sell the skilful winger for €13m this summer (£11.1m).
