Whilst speaking to talkSPORT, the midfielder revealed the Spurs manager will hold individual appraisals with his players to monitor their progress and their aims for the season.

However, the 23-year-old also added a team meeting will be held to discuss the overall aims of the Club for the upcoming season.

“We’ve got everything in place. We’ve got a fantastic stadium, fantastic facilities, a fantastic manager and top players as well. Obviously, we’re strengthening the squad and adding new players as well which is a positive,” he told TalkSPORT.

“This season is going to be one where everyone really wants to kick on and do something and go one better. If you look at how our seasons have gone in the past three, four, five years we’ve gone upwards. To get to the Champions League, to stay top four, to do everything we’ve done.

“This summer we’ll sit down and have a chat in pre-season, talk about what our aims are this season and what we want to achieve. I’m sure with the quality we have in the side, the players we’ve got and the manager and coaches, we can go one better.”

Winks put pen-to-paper on Monday to confirm his long-term future with Spurs for another five years until 2024. (Tottenham)

However, Winks now faces more fierce competition for a place in the midfield after Spurs broke their transfer record for Tanguy Ndombele. (Tottenham)

Spurs Web Opinion:

Winks is expected to play a huge role in the coming season and the signing of Ndombele will only strengthen the midfield which could allow Winks more freedom. However, it will be interesting to see what role Moussa Sissoko plays following a drastically improved season.
