Report: Wolves join Tottenham in race for League One sensation

According to reports, Tottenham face stiff competition in their apparent pursuit to sign Sunderland striker Josh Maja this month.

The 20-year-old striker has been in sensational form in front of goal for the Black Cats, having netted 14 goals in just 23 appearances this season.

The Englishman has been highly rated at the Stadium of Light for a while but his performances this season have grabbed the attention of several Premier League heavyweights.

According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the list of clubs who are keen to bring Maja to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old has turned down a contract offer at the Stadium of Light and according to The Birmingham Mail, his manager Jack Ross has not ruled out the possibility of the Englishman leaving the club in the January transfer window.

It is reported that along with Wolves and Spurs, Manchester City, Crystal Palace, and Huddersfield Town, have all registered their interest in the striker.

Given that Llorente might leave Spurs this January, the Lillywhites are said to be in the lookout for a new striker. Josh Maja will fit the bill perfectly as he might be willing to play second fiddle to Harry Kane and has the potential to improve as a player at just 20 years of age.
