Report: Wolves make contact with £25m Spurs man over possible summer transfer

Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura is attracting interest from fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Brazilian news outlet Torcedores.

The report claims that representatives from Wolves have already made contact with Moura’s agents to discuss a possible move to Molineux this summer.

The 30-year-old arrived in north London back in January 2018 after joining for a fee of £25million from Paris Saint-Germain, becoming the club’s first winter transfer signing since 2015 (Sky Sports).

The Brazilian is out of contract in north London this summer and has already been told that his deal will not be renewed.

Tottenham had a deadline of December 31 2022 to communicate to Moura they wanted to extend his deal, which expires at the end of June, and that has now passed (The Sun).

Moura cemented his place in club folk law after scoring an incredible second-half hat-trick against Ajax in 2020 to send Spurs to their first-ever Champions League final.

Aston Villa, Lazio, Newcastle United and Marseille are all also said to be keen on Moura, along with Brazilian club Flamengo, however, the player wishes to continue his career in Europe.

SpursWeb Opinion

It has been a frustrating season for Moura, who spent a large chunk of the campaign on the sidelines through injury. In recent weeks, he has also not had the best of times including a red card at Everton and a loose pass that gifted Liverpool a late winner.

He will always have a special place in the hearts of Spurs fans after his Champions League exploits and can consider himself unfortunate not to have started in the final ahead of an unfit Harry Kane.
