Report: Wolves set to rival Spurs for 20-year-old right-back this summer

Football Insider have revealed that Wolves are ready to enter the chase for rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Max Aarons this summer.

A new right-back is reportedly a priority for Jose Mourinho this summer, with reports suggesting that Serge Aurier (Sport Mediaset) and Kyle Walker-Peters (Dan Kilpatrick) could both be on their way out of North London.

Aarons has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs (Express) but Football Insider now suggest that the club’s pursuit of the right-back will be anything but straight forward.

It is claimed that the Lilywhites tried to sign Aarons during the January transfer window but Norwich were not ready to sell him. However, Spurs have been backed to return for the 20-year-old this summer, with Jose Mourinho reportedly rating the defender highly.

The report asserts that Spurs now face considerably more competition for Aarons than they did during January, with the main challenge coming from Wolves.

Nuno Espirito Santo is said to have identified the Norwich star as an option to help bolster his backline ahead of next season and the Midlands club are reportedly ready to push Spurs all the way.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Kyle Walker-Peters looks to be on his way out of Spurs, it remains to be seen if Aurier will be stay or not. If the Ivorian also leaves, we might need to bring in two right-backs this summer. Aarons is not only a top prospect but the fact that he is homegrown will also be beneficial to us. However, it does look like plenty of clubs are likely to be interested in the youngster, which might push up his price.
