Tottenham Hotspur fans would have been hoping for some exciting transfer sagas this summer, but not revolving around their current stars.
Unfortunately, rumours surrounding the future of Christian Eriksen have been rumbling on for some time now, as the Great Dane enters the final year of his current contract.
These links were only fueled by Eriksen’s recent comments to the Danish media, stating that he would be looking for a step up and a new challenge away from Spurs next season (Ekstra Bladet).
Eriksen was heavily tipped to join Real Madrid this summer, but the move looked to have fallen through when Marca reported that Zinedine Zidane much preferred Paul Pogba.
However, in yet another twist to the deal, the Daily Star now report that Man United’s unwillingness to sell Pogba this summer is set to force Los Blancos to go all out on Eriksen.
This comes after Eriksen has been linked with a move to Man United himself (Mirror).
