Report: Youngster ‘declined’ Spurs transfer offer as it was ‘too early’

Het Nieuwsblad have reported that Anderlecht starlet, Anouar Ait El Hadj, once turned down a move to Tottenham Hotspur since he believed that it was too early in his career (as relayed by Sport Witness).

The youngster has played a pivotal role in the Anderlecht team this year after making his debut last season under Vincent Kompany.

So far, Anouar Ait El Hadj has recorded 21 appearances in the Belgian league, registering three goals to his name in that time.

Now 18-years-old, the report reveals that Tottenham made a move to sign El Hadj three years ago after his progress caught the club’s attention.

Spurs even went as far as to table a proposal to the 15-year-old and his team, but it was declined since El Hadj thought a move was too early and there was more growing to be done at Anderlecht.

However, the report does not reveal whether Spurs are still looking at the teenager and he is currently under contract until 2024.
