Reported: Midfielder says he is in no rush to make a transfer decision amid Spurs links

Adrien Rabiot looks set to leave Juventus this summer on a free transfer, but the France midfielder has been speaking to the media about his upcoming decision, and insists he has not made his mind up yet about where to go.

It is well known that Spurs are in the market for a new central midfielder in the summer, with Ange Postecoglou keen to upgrade his options in the middle of the park.

While the likes of Pape Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur have performed well this season, Yves Bissouma’s form has dipped, while Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp appear to be on the fringes of Postecoglou’s squad.

Spurs have long been linked with Adrien Rabiot, with Fabrizio Romano claiming the 28-year-old is on the radar for the Lilywhites. It is thought Rabiot is interested in moving to the Premier League (Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness).

The bonus is, Rabiot’s current contract expires at the end of the season, and talks over a new deal have hit a standstill recently (TuttoMercatoWeb via Juve FC).

Will Adrien Rabiot sign for Spurs?

Speaking to the press (via RMC Sport) today, Rabiot offered some insight into where his head is at right now in terms of what his next movie will be.

He said: “I haven’t decided personally on my future. It’s true that last year I stayed at Juventus knowing I wouldn’t play in Europe. It was an important choice from me.

“Next year, we should be playing in the Champions League and take part in the Club World Cup. These are things that will be considered, but I really haven’t made a decision on that.

“I’m waiting to finish the season and then we’ll talk with the club and I’ll see then. For now, I’m trying to stay focused, to come back from my little niggle, to finish well and to prepare for the Euros well.

“I’m not in a rush to take a decision. I am going to think a lot because I’m arriving at an important age in my career. I feel good. I’m at my peak and it will be important to make the right choice.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Adrien Rabiot could be exactly the kind of midfielder Spurs and Postecoglou are looking for. Hard-working, calm and composed, offers protection for the backline. The fact he is free, too, is even better.
