Reported Spurs transfer target dedicated Instagram post to Steven Bergwijn

Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a number of forwards for the January transfer window as they looked to cope without Harry Kane for the next few months.

Kane picked up a nasty injury against Southampton on New Years Day and later required surgery on a ruptured hamstring tendon.

Back in December, Spurs and Liverpool were both linked with a £50m move for Lyon front man Memphis Depay, who has been impressing since a move to France (Calcio Mercato).

Of course, Depay played a stint in the Premier League with Man United earlier in his career, but failed to live up to his promise.

The Dutch winger has now posted to Instagram to claim that 2020 is the year of Steven Bergwijn, congratulating his international teammate for his Spurs debut goal.

Bergwijn scored a sensational chest and volley at home to Man City in a 2-0 win yesterday in the Premier League after transferring from PSV just a week ago.
