Reported Tottenham target has no interest in leaving current club this summer

Tottenham Hotspur and boss, Mauricio Pochettino, have been linked with moves for a number of new right-backs this summer.

This comes after Spurs’ first-choice right-back, Kieran Trippier, endured a torrid season in a Lilywhite shirt last time out and second-choice Serge Aurier didn’t fare much better.

One man who Tottenham were linked with as a potential first-team replacement was 29-year-old Marseille full-back, Hiroki Sakai (Sky Sports).

While Sakai doesn’t fit the usual profile of a Spurs signing, being older than their usual targets, he would bring a wealth of experience.

Sakai has played 122 games for Marseille, as well as 56 games for his country of Japan, including two World Cups (Sky Sports).

The French club are said to be willing to sell their star if the right price is met, but there is a major stumbling block.

However, a fresh report from French outlet, Le Provence, has now claimed that Sakai has no interest in leaving Marseille at all this summer.
