Reported Tottenham target joins Bordeaux

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of attacking players since the injuries to the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

The two Tottenham and England stars will likely be out until early March with their respective problems, and with Lucas Moura injured and Heung Min Son away last week, Spurs were said to be after everyone and anyone.

One of the players linked was Sunderland’s 20-year-old striker Josh Maja (Express).

Maja’s contract was due to expire at the end of this season, hence why he was said to be a target of the North London outfit.

He scored 16 goals in 30 appearances for Sunderland in 2018/19, an impressive goal tally for a young forward.

Despite Sunderland offering him a new deal, and reported interest from Premier League clubs, Maja has now joined Bordeaux on a four and a half year contract, putting an end to any rumoured possibility of a late Spurs move (BBC).
