Sebastien Bassong is reported to be keen to leave Newcastle United in order to join Tottenham Hotspur.
The former French Under-21 defender is, according to Sky Sports, eager to work under Harry Redknapp at White Hart Lane.
Press reports over the weekend claimed that Spurs had made a £10million bid for Bassong – something which Redknapp later denied, but did admit his interest in the player.
Bassong only joined the Magpies last season for around £500,000, but with Spurs desperate for cover in the heart of their defence due to injuries to Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson – he could be set to make an offer for the 23-year-old.
