Reports claim that England boss tells King he’s bound for South Africa

Fabio Capello has told Ledley King that he will be part of the England squad for the World Cup, should he not be injured.

That’s what is being reported in today’s media.  The Spurs skipper has already been backed for a place in South Africa by boss Harry Redknapp and his recent display at Old Trafford against Manchester United only proved to show that Ledley can still do it at the highest level.

Despite King’s knee injury, which means the defender can only take part in limited training, Capello has apparently assured King that he wants to take him.

Redknapp said at the weekend: “I think he will go to the World Cup. Ledley can play every six days and there are six days between games at the World Cup.”

Capello will name a provisional 30-man squad on May 16th.
