Reports: Spurs linked with three possible Tanguy Ndombele swap deals

Several outlets are now reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are looking to use Tanguy Ndombele in a potential swap deal after the midfielder expressed his desire to leave the club.

Ndombele was not involved in any of Tottenham’s pre-season games and the midfielder failed to make the matchday squad against either Manchester City or Pacos De Ferriera.

Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed on Friday that the Frenchman will also not be part of the squad that will travel to Wolves this weekend.

Football Insider claim the 24-year-old has informed Tottenham he is keen to leave the club, something that has also been confirmed by Charlie Eccleshare and Fabrizio Romano.

It has since emerged that Spurs are looking to do a part-exchange deal involving Ndombele, with some sources suggesting Fabio Paratici wanted to swap the Spurs star for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have also allegedly rejected Bayern Munich’s offer of cash plus Corentin Tolisso for Ndombele.

10 Sport journalist Alexis Bernard has also claimed that Spurs are in talks with Lyon regarding a swap deal for Houssem Aouar but he added that Ndombele’s wages would be an issue for the Ligue 1 club.

A swap deal is the only realistic way to move Ndombele on as no club is likely to be in a position to pay Tottenham’s asking price for the 24-year-old.

The biggest hurdle in the transfer would be Ndombele’s wages, which is why I still expect him to be at the club when the transfer window closes unless he agrees to take a wage cut in order to seal a move.
