Reports: Tottenham made a last-ditch effort to sign this attacker on deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur apparently made a last-ditch effort to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes on deadline day yesterday.

This comes after Spurs were able to get deals for Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham and Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis on loan over the line.

Correio da Manha, a Portuguese news outlet, has claimed that Spurs made an effort to sign Fernandes in the last hour, but did not offer the €70m that Sporting were looking for.

O Jogo claim that Spurs offered €60m upfront, as well as €10m in add-ons by lunchtime on deadline day.

O Jogo say that Fernandes attempted to force his way out of the club and that Sporting were willing to give in a little on price due to his dissatisfaction.

However, there was not enough time to get a deal sorted and Giovani Lo Celso was already coming in by that point.

Should Spurs go back in for him?
