‘Responded positively’ – Journalist reveals update on Hugo Lloris contract talks with Spurs

Fichajes journalist Ekrem Konur has revealed there has been some progress in Tottenham’s talks with Hugo Lloris regarding a new contract.

Lloris is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs as the Frenchman is into the final six months of his contract at Tottenham.

Reports from France over recent weeks have claimed that Lloris’ boyhood club Nice, as well as Rennes, are watching the Spurs captain’s situation and are keen to bring him back to Ligue 1.

Despite the speculation, Conte has maintained that he is not worried about the 35-year-old’s contract situation and insisted he expects the goalkeeper to put pen on paper on a new deal.

Fabrizio Romano suggested in the recent episode of the Here We Go Podcast that the Spurs number one could sign an extension that is longer than 12 months.

Konur has now taken to social media to reveal that Lloris has indeed had offers from France. However, the journalist added that the former Lyon man has ‘responded positively’ to Tottenham’s contract offer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I understand why some Spurs fans might get more worried the longer this drags on. However, I am confident that an agreement will be reached by the parties sooner rather than later. Lloris has proven his loyalty to Tottenham over the years and there is no reason to think that the Frenchman would be making unrealistic demands.
