Juventus held talks with Spurs over a possible move for Gareth Bale according to former Juventus technical director Roberto Bettega.
He claims that he travelled to London last year to discuss a potential switch for the Welshman who was out of favour at Tottenham during that time.
He told Italia Uno: “Last year I went to London to talk with Redknapp and I asked him about Gareth Bale.
“I knew Tottenham were interested in some of Juventus’ players. And the speech wasn’t closed.
“When there was the handover to (Juventus general managers, Beppe) Marotta and (Fabio) Paratici I told them all my movements.
“I don’t know if they have resumed negotiations with Tottenham.”
