Richarlison has the perfect response to Antonio and Wilson mocking him

Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison has fired back with a hilarious response to criticism levelled at him by Michail Antonio and Callum Wilson, by questioning their goalscoring records at international level.

It was not the best of seasons for Richarlison, who failed to live up to expectations after joining Tottenham from Everton last summer.

The Brazilian struggled to establish himself as a regular in the starting lineup throughout the campaign, and ended up with just three goals and four assists across all competitions for Spurs (Transfermarkt).

Richarlison did put the ball in the back of the net plenty more times, however, three goals were ruled out during the season after VAR ruled them offside.

The 26-year-old was quick to celebrate wildly on each occasion, taking his top off and receiving bookings for goals that never were.

This led to both Callum Wilson and Michail Antonio making Richarlison the butt of their jokes on The Footballer’s Football Podcast.

The pair’s comments drew criticism from Tottenham Hotspur‘s Acting Head Coach Ryan Mason (Football.London).

Antonio defended his joke to the BBC recently, but now Richarlison has got in on the act and has come up with the perfect answer to any criticism he faced.

Over on his TikTok, Richarlison had this to say on Antonio and Wilson: “How many goals do both have in the World Cup?”

The Spurs attacker enjoyed a fine World Cup, scoring three goals in four games for Brazil (Transfermarkt). Both Wilson and Antonio are yet to register a goal on the world stage.

He may have taken his time to speak on the matter, but what a way to silence your critics. It was a difficult season for Richarlison, but the whole Spurs squad struggled this season.

I’ve no doubt he will get firing next year and really make people regret their comments about him.
