Tottenham’s Richarlison has set the record straight after his alleged quotes regarding the war in Iran were doing the rounds on social media.
The attention of the world is now on the shocking events unfolding in the Middle East, with the United States, Israel and Iran engaged in an ongoing conflict.
Images and videos of explosions in various parts of West Asia have been flooding social media, as waves of missile and drone attacks continue in the region.
A Spurs star has now reacted to suggestions that he took a strong stance on the ongoing war.

Tottenham’s Richarlison dismisses ‘fake quotes’
There are quotes of Richarlison circulating online, in which the Brazilian is alleged to have threatened to pull out of the World Cup if ‘the United States does not stop this war against Iran’.
The 28-year-old has now taken to social media to make it clear that the quotes, and the sentiment behind them, are completely fake. He insists that false news around him has ‘gone too far’.
Richarlison wrote on X: “Just to be clear, because the fake news has gone too far: I never made that statement. Although I am against any kind of war and conflict, I never said I wouldn’t play for the Brazilian national team at the World Cup. I hope everyone who shared this lie takes it back and deletes their posts.”
Richarlison also hit out against fake news about his future
Last month, Richarlison blasted a Brazilian journalist for reporting fake news about his future after the journalist suggested that the Tottenham striker is on his way to Saudi Arabia this summer.
While a move to the Middle East may or may not be on the cards for the striker, it does appear as if he may not have too much longer left at Tottenham.
Reports indicate that Spurs and Richarlison have agreed to go their separate ways this summer, with the Lilywhites ready to sell the former Everton man for £26m.
