Amid rumours linking Richarlison with a return to Everton, the Tottenham striker has seemingly aimed a subtle dig at someone.

The Tottenham boss has been clear that he only wants players who are fully committed to Spurs, and it is clear that Richarlison has not expressed such a commitment.

During the pre-season tour of Australia and New Zealand, De Zerbi hinted that the Brazilian is unsure if he wants to stay and be part of his project.

The Italian repeated the same following Tottenham’s 2-0 loss to Everton, with De Zerbi revealing that Richarlison had said too many times that he wants to leave.

Richarlison takes veiled dig at Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi

It looks like the striker will get his wish for a transfer, with reports indicating that the 29-year-old could return to Everton as part of a double deal that will bring Iliman Ndiaye to Spurs.

However, the Brazil international has now taken to social media to post a cryptic message, where he seems to suggest that the Tottenham boss misrepresented his stance.

Richarlison posted a message on his Instagram stories which translates to: “I am the villain of many. Poorly told stories.”

Why Richarlison’s message is a concern for Spurs amid Iliman Ndiaye pursuit

According to an update from Fabrizio Romano, Ndiaye’s move from Everton to Tottenham could hinge on Richarlison agreeing to return to his former club.

All parties are still waiting on the final decision of the 29-year-old, who also has several other suitors.

This message from the striker is worrying in that context, as it suggests that he and Tottenham may not entirely be on the same page.
